Sets-up patient for continuous monitoring at the bedside with video, if indicated. Instructs nursing staff on pushing event button and care of videos. Evaluates and documents patient progress. Facilitates the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to insure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. Serves as a liaison between the Manager, staff and other areas within the organization. Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Other duties as assigned. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical area of responsibility. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current state licensure as an RN.BCLS and ACLS certification (if applicable)/PALS within six months of hire date. NRP certification must be obtained within first year. Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients and equipment to their destination.<br/><br/>Job Responsibilities: Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or beds as requested to include transport of patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment. With assistance, transfers patients to or from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as needed. During discharge transports patients to hospital lobby and open doors. Job performance/Job Duties, requires standing and walking along with pushing of wheelchairs, stretchers and equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs, and push equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Ensures proper oxygen levels in tanks before transporting patient. Approach, greet and offer assistance and direction to patients and visitors in the hospital environment. Communicates to nursing personnel, clinician, technician or reception of patients's arrival and departure. Verifies correct patient identification by comparing information from pager to patient wristband; obtains correct medical chart; verifies proper mode of transportation and confirms standard precautions. Disinfects and maintains par levels of equipment throughout the hospital. Push/Pull up to 5 wheel chairs at one time. Identifies malfunctioning ambulatory equipment and reports to appropriate department for repair or replacement. Rounding throughout the hospital environment for departmental equipment and delivering to the appropriate stagging area. Performs environmental/safety checks and documents as required. Other duties as assigned.<br/><br/>Education: High School Diploma or GED.<br/><br/>Experience: After selection and placement, requires three months on-the-job training and orientation to learn multiple hospital and clinic locations, special procedures and patient emergency and safety procedures, proper body mechanics necessary to safely move patients.<br/><br/>Licensure/Certification/Registration: None<br/><br/>Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling of patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
