Medical Assistants in the Team Care model have an enhanced role in patient care.<br/><br/>The MA greets and rooms the patient performs a comprehensive health maintenance review and then provides an oral report to the physician regarding patient history and chief complaint.  The MA stays in the exam room with the physician as the patient is treated and scribes documentation of the visit into the medical record.  At the exam&#8217;s conclusion, the MA reviews the after visit instructions with the patient and ensures understanding.  Excellent verbal communication skills and understanding of medical terminology are essential for success in this role.<br/><br/>We are currently seeking Medical Assistants with minimum of ONE year MA experience and EPIC experience for our VBC Team Care Primary Care Practices.<br/><br/>MEDICAL ASSISTANT  -VBC<br/><br/>Summary: Utilizes medical and administrative skills to provide support to patients and healthcare staff.<br/><br/>Education:  Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Current demonstrated clinical proficiency with phlebotomy required, proficiency in EKG desired. Completion of a clinical externship.<br/><br/>Experience:<br/><br/><br/>-         Minimum of one year Medical Assistant experience in a similar setting.<br/><br/><br/>-          EPIC experience required.<br/><br/>Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR Certification required. Must complete Level C Health Care Provider training during new hire period.<br/><br/>Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision. Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
