Duties:                The Physician Assistant &#8211; Outpatient at Cleveland Clinic&#8217;s Digestive Disease Institute in Cleveland, Ohio works with subspecialties of pouch disorders in Gastroenterology and provides high quality health care to patients with inflammatory bowel disease and pouch related disorders. Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant &#8211; Outpatient include: conduct thorough medical histories; identify and capture patient information related to specific research studies; perform complete physical examinations; initiate appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinize lab data on new and former clinical patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient&#8217;s current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan with direct review by a physician; perform and interpret, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from normal, common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes; provide information and answer routine patient questions regarding their disease, including preventative health maintenance topics such as diet, weight, smoking and topics related to medical specialty, with basic recommendations; educate patients regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards; medical record keeping including completion of appropriate patient medical chart, transcription of lab data and routine correspondence, as directed and reviewed by physician; refer patients to physicians as appropriate for consultation of for specialized health resources and treatment; ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patient and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team or with other specialty areas. <br>
                                    
Requirements:   Master&#8217;s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant program; eligibility for Physician Assistant Certificate and license to prescribe from the Ohio State Medical Board; and 6 months employment experience to include clinical research.<br>

Salary:               Commensurate with qualifications and experience:  $81,988.40 per year.<br>

In general, most activities related to acquisition and immediate distribution of tissue to researchers occur in the retrieval and distribution of specimens from archive, quality assurance, and new projects (i.e. TMA preparation, laser capture microdissection, DNA and RNA derivative preparation), and distribution of unstained slides for clinical trials take place in the post-procurement lab.<br/><br/>SUMMARY: Directions the operations within this center.<br/><br/>RESPONSIBILITIES:<br/><br/>The Director will be responsible for supervising activities in both areas, including among other things, the following:<br/><br/>I.              Procurement Lab:<br/><br/>a.    Working with the administrative management of the Surgical Desk, supervise the process of tissue procurement, including:<br/><br/>i.    Documentation of variables that influence specimen quality<br/><br/>ii.    Documentation of Informed Consent<br/><br/>iii. This position is responsible for providing analytical support by way of conducting research on various insurance companies&#8217;, plans benefits, claims adjudication and authorization requirements within the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and neighboring Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) with the goal of providing on-going up-to-date information to all areas within the Revenue Cycle<br/>

<b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b> 
<p>
Identifies key point of contact for each major insurance program<br/>
Informs decision-making by providing an analysis of options regarding which payers CCAD will contract with that will allow for maximum revenue realization. <br/> 
Develops a clear outline or map of adjudication requirements by insurance plan<br/> 
Develops a clear outline or map of eligibility and authorization requirements for covered/non-covered service or benefit<br/> 
Develops a database that identify exclusions whether or not a service or procedure is reimbursable or not and which are requiring pre-authorization in order to reduce claims denial for CCAD <br/>
Understands environment surrounding insurance current practices in the UAE, highlight risks and opportunities<br/> 
Assists in drafting payer contracts and support contract negotiations<br/> 
Develops self-pay pricing model for both local and international patients <br/>
Works closely with CDM analyst to ensure alignment of chargeable versus non-chargeable procedures, supplies, DRGs <br/>
Develops training content and materials to be provided to Patient Access, Billing and Physician staff to ensure compliance<br/>
Assists with other projects as needed<br/>
<p/>
<b>Experience:</b>
<p>
Minimum of three (3) years of progressive work experience in the area of contracting or analysis is preferred <br/>
Experience in healthcare preferred but not required <br/>
Knowledge of financial systems and reporting processes <br/>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills <br/>
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Word<br/>
Must have the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently <br/>
Strong attention to details <br/>
Strong oral and written communication skills <br/>
Strong presentation skills <br/>
Comfortable working in both individual and team settings <br/>
Ability to speak and write in English is required <br/>
