The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Laboratory Director in the management and supervision of the laboratory through planning, directing, coordinating, implementing, controlling, evaluating and improving the quality of patient care delivered.<br/><br/>3. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of one or more designated sections and ensures that goals and standards are in compliance with hospital standards and those of the applicable accrediting organizations.<br/><br/>4. He or she is responsible for managing the equipment in the department, for promoting teamwork with all customers, and for appropriate resource management<br/><br/>5.  Accurately identifies each patient specimen and testing orders and ensures results are accurate and reported in a timely manner.<br/><br/>6.  Ensures specimen integrity and identification and resolves specimens not meeting testing criteria.<br/><br/>7.  Identifies and resolves pending specimen results from laboratory information system for assigned departments.<br/><br/>8.  Reports pertinent information to the physician, patient care area or Laboratory Manager (ie: panic values, instrument malfunctions, delay in testing, reagent or supply depletion.)<br/><br/>9.  Reviews all sectional policies and procedures at least annually and revises as needed.
