Patrols on foot and in motor vehicles Cleveland Clinic properties, satellite areas and adjacent city streets Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on and off the premises. Exercises statutory and policy authority in making arrests and apprehensions, up to and including use of deadly force. Conducts preliminary and follow-up investigations of police and security-related incidents. Interviews witnesses, gathers facts and documents all investigative activities and incidents. Testifies in court and hearings when involved in arrest situations and/or when involved in an assist role. Responds to all emergency situations throughout the hospital. Provides emergency equipment for first response of outlying properties and facilities. May administer initial first aid as appropriate, request triple team as required, and/or EMS based on location and severity of the situation. Other duties as assigned.<br/><br/>Education: High school diploma or equivalent.<br/><br/>Experience: 2 Years of experience preferred as a police officer in the State of Ohio.<br/><br/>Licensure/Certification/Registration:  OPOTA (COMPLETION OF THE OHIO Peace Officer Training ACADEMY) Certificate required. Must possess a valid Ohio driver&#8217;s license, maintain firearms qualification, and maintain eligibility of insurability to operate the organization's vehicles.<br/><br/>Physical Requirements: Spontaneous running of 300 meters, approximately two minutes of continuous physical conflict on an occasional basis. Dragging loads of approximately 200 lbs. Driving a vehicle for up to 60 continuous minutes. Problem solving: Using revenue cycle knowledge, identifies and resolves issues related to registration, financial clearance, insurance company authorization requirements, billing, insurance company explanation of benefits, provider based billing, governmental requirements, HCAP/FAP polices and restrictions, MyAccount, coding, collections. Multi-Task in Multiple Computer Systems: Communicates with patients and enters/exits multiple computer systems to investigate, resolve and document patient inquires. Identifies and resolves patient account issues across the enterprise. Collects payments and ensures that the dollar amount is posted to the correct debit and according to the patient request. Offers payment options to patients as needed. Other duties as assigned.<br/><br/>Education: High school diploma or equivalent. An Associates Degree may substitute for up to one year of the stated experience OR a Bachelor's Degree may substitute for up to two years of stated experience.<br/><br/>Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in health insurance claims processing, customer service or banking/collections call center, or medical facility.<br/><br/>Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required.<br/><br/>Physical Requirements: Sit at desk and key on PC.
