The Registered Nurse specializing in Peri-Operative Nursing practice performs nursing activities in the peri-operative, intra-operative, and post post-operative phases of the patient's experience.  These activities are based on the theory, Nursing is a caring art based on the creative application of knowledge, skills, and interpersonal competencies. The ultimate goal of such Nursing is the provision of quality individualized Patient Care. Peri-operative Nursing varies and may include, but is not limited to, peer education and patient/family teaching, support and reassurance, advocacy, control of the environment, efficient provision of resources, maintenance of asepsis, monitoring physiologic and psychological status, supervision of ancillary personnel and integration and coordination of care across settings and disciplines.<br/><br/><br /><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b><br/><br/>A.     Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<br/><br/>Minimum: Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program with active State of Florida Licensure<br/><br/>Preferred: Membership in AORN; CNOR; Current BLS Certification required, ACLS preferred.<br/><br/>B.     Required Length and Type of Experience<br/><br/>Minimum 2- years experience in a multi-disciplined OR in an acute care hospital setting.<br/><br/>C.
