Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, this position will serve as a primary resource providing administrative, analytical and managerial support related to financial activities of CCAD and other related projects. Key responsibilities for this position will include financial reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, property accounting, budgeting and all accounting related activities of CCAD.
* Develops financial goals and objectives for CCAD
* Manages and oversees general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, property accounting, financial reporting and budgeting for CCAD
* Supervises the areas of accounting/financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll and budgeting, which includes hiring, training and disciplining employees
* Ensures that all activities are functioning properly and that appropriate policies and procedures are developed, implemented and maintained to ensure the appropriate accounting and reporting of CCAD
* Works with other CCAD personnel to confirm that appropriate internal control mechanisms, policies and procedures are in place to ensure that CCAD financial activity is accounted-for and reported accurately
* Manages the monthly close process to ensure the timely and accurate accounting and reporting for CCAD
* Holds responsibility for CCAD’s accounting methodologies and general ledger closing functions, including:Oversees the compilation and preparation of all CCAD financial statements
* Compiles all financial data from CCAD subsidiaries
* Consolidates financial data, including eliminating entries, to provide total CCAD consolidated statements
* Prepares analyses of specific accounts
* Distributes month-end reports
* Develops and maintains a system of internal controls over financial reporting
* Coordinates audit activities for CCAD
* Researches new accounting guidance and implements changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate accounting guidelines
* Maintains active involvement in the Capital Approval Process and allocation and tracking of project funds
* Oversees the property and liability insurance program
* Provides support for business development initiatives
* Develops and presents the annual operating budget for CCAD
* Ensures accurate and timely payroll and benefit accrual
* Minimum of seven (7) years experience in accounting is required
* Minimum of three (3) years experience in the health care industry, or similar experience with an auditing firm performing significant health care audits, is preferred
* Experience with accounting systems and developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
* Demonstrated managerial skills and ability to provide effective guidance and direction to a management team and staff
* Strong analytical and interpretative skills
* Proficient in the use of PCs, spreadsheets and other software applications
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to speak and write in English is required
* Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, is required
* CPA or equivalent is required
* Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, is preferred
* Typical physical demands include: a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment, normal or corrected vision and hearing, extensive sitting, mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout CCAD and lift up to 30 lbs.
