Job Details:

This position is responsible for the implementation and support of a broad set of clinical applications and is responsible for providing computer system support by ensuring the timely processing and reporting of clinical data, resolving system issues and assisting departments with the development of policies and procedures necessary to process information accurately and enhance operational efficiencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Leads and facilitates core clinical IT activities
* Provides project leadership for the implementation of software releases and new products for clinical applications
* Leads and monitors new module/application testing and implementation
* Provides input to and customizes best practice policies, procedures and training for use
* Coordinates clinical application reporting requests and assists with defining report requirements and validating results
* Participates in needs assessment, software design, support and reporting
* Works with enterprise subject matter experts and services resources in managing the resolution of clinical application incidents and requests
* Leads the escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources and troubleshoots issues with vendor assistance
* Participates in unit and integrated testing of software to ensure that the design objectives are met
* Leads components in the development of end-user training materials and participates in training efforts
* Provides on-call assistance as needed

Experience:

* Minimum of five (5) years experience in clinical support application
* Experience with lead implementation responsbilities
* Proficiency in various programming and clinical application reporting tools
* Knowledge- of health care industry regulations that affect a variety of clinical and financial departments, including JCAHO, CAP, Rate Setting and HCFA
* Ability to work with servers and apply software upgrades
* Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing
* Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships
* Preferred: Epic build and implementation experience highly preferred for this role

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Nursing or Pharmacy, or equivalent, is required
* Experience typically supported by a license in a medically related field such as Nursing, Pharmacy or Medical Technology
* Epic Certification is highly preferred
