Director Patient Billing

Summary:

This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day patient billing function for CCAD, including report analysis, metrics tracking and error resolutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Directs and manages the daily operation of the patient billing function to ensure that all charges are processed and billed accurately
* Oversees and maintains policies and standard operating procedures for established and new billing controls and processes
* Ensures that adequate controls are in place in order to mitigate risk to CCAD and that patient billing best practices are incorporated into all aspects of patient billing, reconciliation and appeals/denials
* Coordinates liaison activities related to various patient billing needs between departments, agencies and payer organizations
* Designs and compiles daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports
* Directs billing staff for Outpatient, Inpatient and ED and assists in the training of new employees
* Keeps aware of payment flow and helps detect problems of unpaid claims manages AR days and Cash on Hand

Experience:

* Minimum of eight (8) years patient billing/collection management experience is required, CC, Kaiser or Mayo experience is highly desirable
* Minimum of three (3) years previous managerial experience is required
* Knowledge of the end to end revenue cycle to include but not limited to registration and patient accounting and regulatory/payer requirements is required
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
* Strong PC and application skills
* Masters degree is preferred
* Ability to speak and write in English is required
* Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration, or related field, is required
* Master’s degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration, or related field, is preferred
* AHMA certification is required (Professional or Technical)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

* Typical physical demands include: a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment, normal or corrected vision and hearing, extensive sitting and/or walking, mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout CCAD and lift up to 30 lbs.
