Your application will be reviewed for Child Life Specialist positions at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, East and West Community Hospitals for full-time, part-time and PRN positions on all shifts.
There are currently NO open positions-
Under the direction of the Child Life Coordinator, assesses the developmental, social and physical needs of assigned population and provides appropriate interventions such as preparations and therapeutic play. Plans and implements individual, group, and special events programming; takes a leadership role in creating a child-centered environment; facilitates patient and parent adjustment to the health care environment and participates in multi-disciplinary care of patients and families. Contributes to the planning and control porcesses of the budget by participating in the developmjent and maintenance of inventory. Participates in the orientation, development and direction for the Children's Hospitals volunteers. Performs administrative tasks and maintains records. Coordinates activity programs and maintains age appropriate supplies for activity rooms. Participates as a memeber of the multi-disciplinary team by attending conferences, meetings, education, presentations adn oreintations. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field, including course work.
LICENSURE: Must be Child Life Certification eligible.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Requires completion of an approved Child Life Internship or equivalent experience as a Child Life Specialist. One year of work experience as a Child Life Specialist preferred.
Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good hand-eye coordination, involves extensive standing walking and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 75 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work
