Job Responsibilities: Supervises nursing, technical, clerical and patient care providers in the clinical setting to ensure quality of care. Anticipates and resolves patient care issues. Monitors daily clinical operations. Provides professional nursing care to a specified patient population. Assesses patients, completes focused physical exam. Notifies physician of abnormal findings. Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to coordinate clinical care. Identifies cost effective ways to maximize wellness, prevent illness, disability and disease. Initiates CPR and other emergency measures. Administers medications and treatments as ordered by a physician. Monitors patient response to treatment. Assists with specialized patient care equipment, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Provides health education to patients and families. Evaluates, adapts and documents education to learning needs and abilities of patients or families. Assists in the preparation of the department specific education for patients and colleagues. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Ohio state licensure as an RN.
Other: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Complexity of Work. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Experience: Minimum five years clinical nursing experience required. Previous management experience as Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager. May substitute five years experience in Cardiovascular Medicine or ICU with Nurse Manager responsibilities
Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires frequent data entry, standing or walking. Requires normal or corrected hearing and vision to normal range. May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
