When applying to the Clinical Technician position, your application will reviewed for current positions at CCF Main Campus and Regional Hospitals for full-time (primarily 5 8-hour shifts), part-time and PRN positions on all shifts in a variety of departments and units.

Summary: Under the supervision of an RN, participates in the delivery of patient care at an advanced level which includes providing a variety of technical tasks performed in an effective and efficient manner.

Job Responsibilities: Performs or assists with technical skills specifically identified on skills checklist for which training and competency has been established. these may include but are not limited to vital signs, weights, pulse oximetry, point of care testing (POCT), dressing changes, urinary catheter insertions, phlebotomy, application of external monitoring devices and application of simple VAC dressings. Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to RN. Maintains personal growth and developments through the ongoing process of formal and informal education. Demonstrates a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the workplace. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School diploma or GED. Knowledge and understanding of basic patient care activities normally attained through one or more years of formal training in allied health or healthcare field such as nursing, medical assisting, EMT, or similar field. Ability to read, write and speak English to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform basic applied mathmatics.Good interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.

Successful completion of CC Critical Care Emergency Tech training program, LastWord Order Entry and competency, both written and demonstration of skills within three months.

Experience: One year of recent, full time patient care experience in a hospital, nursing home or healthcare field. Additional education/training may substitute for some / all of the stated experience (e.g., mental health experience )

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None. Completion of BLS within new hire period.

Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing, walking, and occasional lifting of items weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
