Classroom Behavior Therapist:
SUMMARY: The Classroom Behavior Therapist (CBT) implements specific curricula designed to work toward each child’s Individual Education Plan goals; monitors individual and group programs and provides day-to-day student supervision through the principles of applied behavioral analysis. The CBT is responsible for the student’s daily safety, schedule and progress as well as their own professional growth.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines: special education, education, speech, psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, medicine, art therapy, music therapy, or a related field. Ability to be self -motivated, work independently, exhibit enthusiasm and demonstrate patience with the students. Previous experience working with children with autism preferred.
LICENSURE: None.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting students, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, physically able to manage students of varying weight and sizes. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
