NURSING DIRECTOR, AMBULATORY
THIS IS A CLEVELAND CLINIC ABU DHABI POSITION
JOB LOCATION IS ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
This position is responsible for the practice of professional nursing in an ambulatory setting, which includes establishing the clinical direction for nursing care delivery, providing clinical supervision and ensuring that nursing practices are in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and standards of CCAD. This position has explicit ownership/responsibility for outcomes and providing overall administrative management and support for evidence based nursing practice.
– Participates in the strategic development of the ambulatory clinics within the business model of CCAD
– Ensures professional nursing care and manages the delivery of care
– Develops and maintains adherence to patient care standards through continuous quality improvement and strategically develop ambulatory practice into the continuum of care with a focus on access to care and health promotion
– Ensures a safe and therapeutic ambulatory environment
– Supports the professional education of staff including the education of staff on regulatory standards
– Assists in the development, monitoring and administration of the capital and operating budget (fiscal responsibility)
– Works with professional staff to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care delivery
– Contributes to departmental and CCAD structure and policy-making
– Participates in clinical nursing research and supports CCAD research activities
– Defines and evaluates staff performance through performance appraisals
– Facilitates the incorporation of patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical nursing care
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
– Minimum of eight (8) years post graduate experience is required
– Minimum of two (2) years experience in a leadership position, or equivalent, or four (4) years experience in a senior charge nurse position in an acute care tertiary hospital is required
– Knowledge and expertise in clinical area being managed
– Demonstrated skill in counseling, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution and group process
– Ability to interface effectively with divergent groups (i.e., patients, families, professional colleagues, physicians, etc.)
– Ability to positively represent the practice of professional nursing at CCAD
– Strong oral and written communication skills
– Ability to speak and write in English is required
– Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
– Managerial and/or supervisory experience is required
– Health care industry experience is preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required
– Master’s degree in Health Service Management is strongly preferred
– Valid and current national nursing license is required
– Evidence of a passing NCLEX or equivalent is required
– Certified proof of yearly CNE is required
