Summary: Performs basic patient care and ophthalmic testing procedures as directed by physician or supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:Performs initial patient examinations and assists physician with related examinations/procedures as directed. Documents patient information in the patient medical record. Assists with training non-certified technicians and students. Performs clerical, stocking, maintenance and other related duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of the JCAHPO written exam and skill evaluation for Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
Experience:2 or more years.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician
Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment utilized to perform testing procedures. Manual dexterity to perform various exams and hold equipment; good eye-hand coordination; may require long periods of standing and walking.
