Job Details: - High School Diploma or equivalent Required.

Ideal candidate for this position will have hands-on experience in electronics assembly that includes soldering surface mount components. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and be able to work accurately with very small components using a microscope.Must be an experienced Windows PC user familiar with Microsoft Office and generally familiar with Windows based applications. Must be very well organized and have good attention to detail.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

* Organize and maintain electronics laboratory inventory including the sourcing and ordering of components.
* Use circuit board rapid prototyping equipment to produce circuit boards.
* Assemble circuits using both through-hole and surface mount technology components including the soldering of components, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
* Assemble prototypes that may include circuits, controls (including software), indicators, enclosures etc.
* Test and repair medical devices and research instrumentation.

Summary: Machines and/or fabricates experimental prototype devices; participates in the design and development of parts and devices; maintains inventory of supplies and materials; cleans, polishes, and treats manufactured devices and materials; performs other related duties, as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience as an experimental machinist or technician building prototype devices and parts, repairing and modifying devices. Requires minimum of six months on-the-job training to learn machine operation prototype development and nature of material used.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None

Physical Requirements: Duties require frequent data entry, bending, lifting, standing, and sitting. Possible exposure to animal tissue, blood borne pathogens, chemical and biological reagents, and moving mechanical and electrical components. Position requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Normal or corrected vision.
