Summary: This position is for an IT Manager in the Imaging Institute Radiology Informatics department. This individual will supervise, plan, design and implement all IT-related activities for the Radiology department. Responsible for direct personnel management, supervision and coordination of Radiology Desktop support group, technical specialist and/or systems analysts responsible for the installation, maintenance, support and service activities of the department servers and desktop infrastructure for the Imaging Institute. This position directs and maintains responsibility for servers, clients, desktop assets, printers and other hardware in the IT infrastructure. This includes the hardware and software installation, deployment, maintenance, backup, virus control, service and support for department users. Assures adequate on-site support levels and prioritize essential tasks for the Institute and coordinates and manages system change control process, server access, web design and implementation . The position requires interaction with vendor technical support personnel, field service engineers and implementation staff, end-users enterprise-wide and other service and administrative groups involved in the management, support and service tasks of CCHS enterprise-wide systems. Responsible for personnel supervision of technical support staff including, but not limited to interviewing, providing discipline, assigning schedules, work assignments and periodic evaluations.
Job Responsibilities: The IT Manager will work closely with the other teams within informatics as well as with other external departments to review, recommend and implement cost-effective technology solutions.Coordinates and manages the computer operators assigned to the Desktop support group, including schedules, assignments and tasks. Evaluates support team. Responsible for implementing workstation and department file server standards. Coordinates software installation/upgrades and maintenance on all department servers and workstations. Coordinates desktop and server hardware installation, maintenance and support. Promotes clear and consistent communication to the user community of the operational service and support directions relating to all Radiology desktop, server and web-based applications. Responsible for problem identification, and resolution of all Radiology systems and applications. Develops and maintains system maintenance schedules across all Radiology systems enterprise-wide. Performs data management including file back-up, archiving, and data distribution. Researches and advises on system and software purchase decisions. Performs security management and monitoring; assures HIPAA compliance with all Radiology applications and servers. Maintains Hardware/Software and License inventory. Creates server environment needed to run department applications. Responsible for knowledge / implementation of main campus and ITD server standards when applicable. Maintains virus protection software and maintains a system to assure desktop virus protection. Performs web development/support. Develops and maintains strong client relationships with management team members in all CCHS facilities and vendor partners. Assists in developing and delivering IT project and support service throughout CCHS. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field. Experience: Minimum six years experience in managing IS application development projects, server installation and maintenance. Experience in working with business users to establish business requirements and set expectations regarding desktop support and asset management. Minimum two years personnel management experience required. Candidates will have a working knowledge of RIS, PACS and IT systems along with an understanding of Radiology terminology and clinical workflow (for technologist, radiologist and physicians) is required. Some travel will be required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification(s) in Novell and Microsoft network operating system preferred. Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Normal or corrected vision to normal range. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Use of basic office equipment. Must be available after hours for support by pager and computer dial-in.
