Summary: The Robotic Coordinator supports all services dealing with robotic procedures. The Robotic Coordinator is responsible for overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation of the robotic surgery program(s). The Robotic Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the schedule of robotic surgeries, providing education for staff, developing competencies and serving as a liaison between physician, patient, family, staff and other healthcare professionals (vendors). Responsibilities:
1. Administrative: Manage robot surgery schedule by working with the OR Scheduling Manager 2. Order and maintain all inventory by working with Supply Chain.
3. Maintain/update protocols, policies and procedures as needed 4. Collaborate with vendors to maintain equipment in working order; troubleshoot and follow-up with any issues. 5. Demonstrate leadership ability and good communication skills 6. Adhere to regulatory compliance standards. 7. Chair the Robotic Steering Committee. Technical: 1. Manage routine preventative maintenance on robotic systems 2. Assist with the set up of equipment for procedures 3. In-service staff/physicians when needed on the robotic system, in collaboration with vendor. 4.Troubleshoot robotic equipment and assist staff during procedures. Clinical: 1. May be asked to assist as scrub or circulator during procedure up to 20% of work time. 2. Supervise the preparation and positioning of patients of robotic procedures 3. Target and support new physicians interested in robotic surgery 4. Obtain knowledge of all surgical procedures dealing with robotic equipment. 5. Work in collaboration with system wide robotic coordinators for best practices, standardization, and improvement initiatives. Quality/PI: 1. Develop goals for Robotic Program consistent with mission, vision and values. 2. Perform data collection for projects, maintaining records and developing process improvement plans. 3. Identify creative cost savings inititatives. 4. Collaborate with Nurse Manager on any issues, developments, or concerns. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Registered Nurse required. Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse Licensure, BLS required, CNOR preferred. Required
Experience: Two years operating room experience required, with proficiency in the scrub and/or the circulating role. One year robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery experience required.
Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
