GENERAL SUMMARY:
The L.P.N./O.R.T. is capable of performing all functions of a L.P.N./O.R.T. in the Operating Room, independently. Is responsible for the direction and supervision of personnel assigned to them. A professional member of the O.R. staff who functions within the department, participating in organizing care of patients within multiple surgical specialties. Assures quality of equipment, supplies, and instruments as a Scrub Nurse. Assists as a preceptor in the orientation and educational development of staff members. Maintains aseptic technique.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Certified Licensed Practical Nurse able to dispense drugs and maintain competency or Certified Operating Room Technician able to maintain competency.
*
Working knowledge of personal computers and data based programs.
Required Length and Type of Experience:
*
Minimum of three years of previous Operating Room experience in an acute care facility or trauma center.
Required Licensure or Certification:
*
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing Program or Operating Room Technology program. BCLS certified.
