The Cleveland Clinic has a full-time position open for an experienced Pain Management Clinical Nurse Specialist. The main focus of this position is inpatient pain consults, education of staff and physicians regarding pain management/interventions. The successful applicant will work closely with the Pain Service, but not assist with procedures.
Summary:
Manages the care of individuals and groups with health problems to provide services that promote, improve and manage health care within the nurses speciality and education.
Job Responsibilities:
* Facilitates nursing practice pattern changes based on clinical practice standards.
* Assesses and cares for patients in the prevention or resolution of illness, with medical diagnosis and treatment of disease,injury and disability.
* Serves as liaison to health care professionals within all levels of the organization.
* Maintains high level of expertise through moral and ethical behavior.
* May prescribe and monitor medication as permitted by the Ohio Board of Nursing and CCF Policy.
* Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Master's Degree required. Mastery of principles from related science e.g.,behavioral and biological sciences.
Experience:
Two years clinical nursing experience required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
APN: Must be a Registered Nurse with current licensure by State of Ohio Board of Nursing; certified by a Certification Board recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing. A "Certificate to Prescribe" is preferred.
