Job Details:
Lakewood Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Specialist. Great opportunity to provide Clinical Medical/Surgical support and education for our nursing staff. In addition, there will be mentoring and coaching of nurses related to clinical practice, use of resources, critical thinking, problem solving and support for Nurse Managers in their efforts to educate, evaluate and promote process improvement. Participate in Nursing Clinical Practice Shared Governance Committee etc. Hours are Mon-Friday. No Holidays or Call.
Summary: Manages the care of individuals and groups with health problems to provide services that promote, improve and manage health care within the nurses speciality and education. Job Responsibilities: Facilitates nursing practice pattern changes based on clinical practice standards. Assesses and cares for patients in the prevention or resolution of illness, with medical diagnosis and treatment of disease,injury and disability. Serves as liaison to health care professionals within all levels of the organization. Maintains high level of expertise through moral and ethical behavior. May prescribe and monitor medication as permitted by the Ohio Board of Nursing and CCF Policy. Other duties as assigned. Education: Master's Degree required. Mastery of principles from related science e.g.,behavioral and biological sciences. Experience: Two years clinical nursing experience required. Licensure/Certification/Registration: APN: Must be a Registered Nurse with current licensure by State of Ohio Board of Nursing; certified by a Certification Board recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing. BLS Healthcare Provider Required. A "Certificate to Prescribe" is preferred. Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to perform physical examinations. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
