Summary: Serves as the technology lead for application development. Analyzes the best approach to delivering the desired functionality and defines the tasks necessary to meet the project’s stated objective. Provides scheduling estimates for all projects. Serves as the technical liaison for any outsourced development work and verifies that all contracted code meets the defined scope and approach . Participates in the scope definition, unit, system and integration testing, implementation, and documentation of all web applications involved in. Establish and ensure that the developer group adheres to policies and procedures for the use of source control and the progression of code through the development, test, and production environments. Job Responsibilities: Works with cross-functional team to build custom web applications software, technologies, and platforms within the given time parameters and budget. Helps coordinate the development effort. Defines and enforces all web application development best practices and methodology. Develops test plan and conducts unit, system and integration tests as well as functional tests. Advises on training needs for development staff, mentors them on development practices. Responsible for writing the technical specification of any custom developed application; validates that all work is done to specification including any outsourced components. Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area preferred or five years of experience in application development.

Experience: Five years extensive object-oriented programming experience and at least two years .NET programming experience. Three years experience in managing and developing distributed web applications for large organizations, preferably in healthcare. Application integration experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None.

Physical Requirements: Demanding work schedule and expectations. Occasional travel between Cleveland Clinic Health System facilities.

- Experience with .net programming environment

- Able to understand complex problems and goals as they relate to strategy.

- Expert at gathering requirements and specifications from the end user, along with documentation.

- Knowledgeable of security concepts and implications.

- Able to accurately estimate development effort.

- Considerable experience with Microsoft SQL server.

- Able to understand complex goals and multiple project dependencies.

- Understanding of user interface design and user functionality.

- Able to interpret user requirements and integrate it with competing requirements.

- Understanding of code management process.

- Able to make creative suggestions to improve the processes.

- Microsoft Certification preferred.
