The position will not exceed past 2014, and employment is not guaranteed. At that, time candidates will be evaluated and have the opportunity to apply for other employment opportunities within the Cleveland Clinic**<br/><br/><b>JOB SUMMARY</b>:<br/><br/>This open position will report to the Enterprise Systems Engineering Team which is responsible for the support & advancement of the MS Windows servers in the Cleveland Clinic Health System.<br/><br/>The Systems Engineer?s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation for our enterprise Windows systems. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing all systems hardware, and associated operating systems. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues.<br/><br/>Furthermore, this position provides overall analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise system technologies to help the organization meet its business objectives.<br/><br/><br /><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b><br/><br/>* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Services or Computer Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of three years related experience may substitute for the above.<br/>* Knowledge of a large multi-service environment with Novell CNE or equivalent operating systems certification; demonstrated knowledge of industry standard network protocol including but not limited to, SNA, DECNET, TCP/IP, NETBIOS, IPS/SPX, ISDN, ATM and broadband, etc Knowledge of personal computer workstations architectures and interface components (i.e., memory management, device drivers and operating systems or video "telemedicine").<br/>* Excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively communicate technical details and requirements into business terms.<br/><br/>Required Length and Type of Experience<br/><br/>* Minimum of six years related experience in an information systems environment to include at least two years of extensive hands-on support of a large multi-service environment is required.<br/>* Experience should include network systems design (both local campus and remote), performance management and fault isolation.<br/><br/>Required Certifications<br/><br/>* None<br/><br/>Require Physical and Environmental Demands<br/><br/>* Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC/word processor, normal or corrected vision and ability to tolerate extensive sitting and frequent walking to other parts of the campus.<br/><br/>Preferred Responsibility/Qualifications:<br/><br/>?Develops system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters to ensure hardware and software compatibility.<br/><br/>?Troubleshoots advanced system problems 7X24.<br/><br/>?May act in the role of project manager for the implementation or upgrade of computer equipment and systems<br/><br/>?Defines and performs system admin/management functions<br/><br/>?Maintains and repairs infrastructure related systems to ensure stable performance (ie, O/S, Servers, etc)<br/><br/>?Ensures conformance to backup and disaster recovery plans<br/><br/>?Provides training and technical assistance to System Admins & peers.<br/><br/>?Adheres to standard ESE policy & processes.<br/><br/>?Determines and documents appropriate architecture and specifications to meet business needs.<br/><br/>?Complete root cause analysis and permanent problem resolution for incidents owned and resolved by the team.<br/><br/>?Implement computer hardware and software technologies<br/><br/>?Attend project discovery meetings<br/><br/>?Responsible for choosing technology that is consistent with our enterprise standards and direction<br/><br/>?Manages, maintains, and edits system documentation/technical manuals<br/><br/>?Maintain professional practices in accordance with HIPA, Legal & Ethical, and audit requirements<br/><br/>Additional Preferred:<br/><br/>* Solid troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills.<br/>* Ability to prioritize effectively and work with a sense of urgency.<br/>* Ability to working independently with a significant attention to detail.<br/>* Ability to manage issues and projects pro-actively to consistently meet deadlines.<br/>* Ability to work under pressure.<br/>* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br/>* Effectively communicates with peers and managers<br/>* Experience working in a large health care environment a plus<br/>* Ability to meet tight schedules for large scale Enterprise projects.<br/>* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in various stages<br/>* Ability to present complex technical issues to peers & management<br/>* Participate in cross-functional teams and work towards project milestones<br/>* Complete documentation and update configuration management systems<br/><br/>Category: Finance/Information Systems<br/>HR Use Only: 071310*MN]]></description>
