This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings.  PA's are privileged by the Board of Governors.<br/><br/>PA's in the Hospital care role provide hospital based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions.  Hospital care PA's practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems.  Must have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.<br/><br/><br /><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b><br/><br/>Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant Program. Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or 10 years clinical practice as a PA with licensure in Ohio (before Dec. 31, 2006), Eligible to apply for licensure to prescribe from the OSMB.   Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Must have an Ohio license to practice as a PA before Dec. 31, 2006 if do not have a Master's degree in PA Studies.  Demonstrated competency and the ability to perform advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan development and invasive procedures as per clinical privileges.  Depending on practice, surgical fields require minimum 2 years surgical experience. Current certification as a Physician Assistant.  Incumbent must obtain State of Ohio licensure before employment, license to prescribe or be eligible.  Must have approved Physician Supervision Agreement (listed on OSMB website) and signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement.  Must be privileged by CCF's Credentialing Board. Typical physical demands include ability to lift and position patients ranging in weight from 50 to 350 pounds.  Ability to push/pull patients to various positions, to move/push medical equipment and supplies.  Requires extensive walking, sitting and stair climbing. Their practice emphasizes health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment  of acute and chronic health problems. They may specialize and be certified in acute care, adult, family, gerontological, psychiatric and mental health, pediatric and womens health.  Nurse practitioners are credentialed and privileged by the Cleveland Clinic Board of Governors.<br/><br/>Nurse practitioners functioning in the hospital role provide care to patients in the hospital setting and/or with complex multi-system health conditions.
